Southern Boulevard Resurfacing Project

We just got information from FDOT regarding a Southern Boulevard Resurfacing Project. As this will probably impact most South End commuters and businesses please review this flyer as well as additional information below. If you are interested in speaking with someone from the project, join the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) on Wednesday, January 11, 2012, when they will host an informational Open House for the resurfacing project on Southern Boulevard/ State Road 80.

Holiday Contest

Have you noticed all the beautifully decorated homes in the South End?

The South End Neighborhood Association has, and wants to bring attention to these beautiful homes by creating a contest to highlight them.

Operation "Prescription for Death"

Application withdrawn from 444 Bunker Project

SENA was advised by Commissioner Moss that the Applicant for the 444 Bunker project has withdrawn their application. While it is possible that they may re-apply, that does not appear to be probable.

If you haven't kept up with the developments, here is a bit of the back-story.

We were contacted in mid-September by the WPB Planning Department and informed that 444 Bunker, between Webster and Dixie, was for sale with a contract to buy on it. The buyer intended to rehab the building and turn it into a 90-bed substance abuse rehabilitation facility.
